Last month, CareBuilders at Home of Alexandria brought the community together for a powerful three-day Senior Fraud Prevention series. The workshops were created to give older adults and their families the tools they need to stay safe in a world where scams are becoming more common and more sophisticated. What unfolded was far more than a set of presentations. It became a shared moment of learning, connection, and community support.<\/span><\/p>\n

Director Winston Perry led each workshop with clarity and compassion, helping residents understand how to recognize and avoid the scams that most often target seniors. His goal was to empower participants, not overwhelm them, and he encouraged open discussions so everyone felt comfortable sharing real concerns and asking questions.<\/span><\/p>\n

The series also welcomed guest speaker Philip Steuber, co-founder of Codex Computer Services. Philip\u2019s tech expertise gave attendees a clearer understanding of digital safety. He walked residents through practical steps they can take to secure online accounts, avoid phishing attempts, and protect personal information on their devices.<\/span><\/p>\n

CareBuilders partnered with three local senior living communities to make the sessions accessible to as many people as possible. Benchmark at Alexandria, Sunrise of Alexandria, and Paul Spring Community each opened their doors and helped create a warm, welcoming environment where learning could thrive.<\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout the series, residents and families received helpful guides and materials designed to support continued fraud awareness at home. Customized gifts provided by Laura of Serendipity Designs added a thoughtful touch that made the experience feel personal and memorable.<\/span><\/p>\n

This initiative reflects CareBuilders at Home of Alexandria\u2019s deeper commitment to the people they serve.
