At CareBuilders at Home, our mission is to provide compassionate and professional care that makes a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and families. This mission extends beyond the homes we serve and into the heart of our community. That’s why we were so proud and humbled to receive a Certificate of Recognition from the Alameda County Social Services Agency.
The award, presented to our own Karl Obertik, acknowledges our commitment to “Making a Difference in Our Communities—one job, one person at a time.” This recognition comes from our participation in the largest event of its kind in the East Bay: the bi-annual Homeless Resource & Job Fair.
The Power of Partnership: The Alameda County Homeless Resource & Job Fair
Hosted in partnership with Alameda County Board of Supervisor, Nate Miley, and numerous other dedicated organizations, this event is a powerful demonstration of community coming together. The goal is to provide a pathway to self-sufficiency for Alameda County’s unhoused and unsheltered residents, offering them the services and opportunities they need to thrive.
The scale of the event is immense. With over 100 service providers and employers present, the fair successfully assisted well over 1,000 clients and job seekers. The sheer number of resources provided was incredible, from basic necessities like food, clothing, and hygiene kits to life-changing services.
Attendees received everything from fresh haircuts and professional headshots to job readiness workshops and career coaching. These services, often difficult to access, were made available in a single location, showcasing the incredible impact of collaborative effort.
A Commitment to Action
Our participation in this event is a reflection of our core values. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to live with dignity and have access to the resources necessary for a healthy and independent life. Our team was on-site, not only to connect with those in need of care services but also to discuss employment opportunities for compassionate individuals looking to make a difference as caregivers.
The “one job, one person at a time” philosophy is at the heart of what we do. It’s about empowering individuals—whether through providing crucial in-home care or by offering a career path that allows them to care for others.
A Moment of Recognition
The award we received is a symbol of this shared commitment. It validates the hard work of our team and the importance of partnerships that drive real social change. It was a proud moment for our organization to have our contributions recognized by such an important community institution.
This certificate is more than just a piece of paper; it’s a promise to continue our work. It motivates us to seek out more opportunities to partner with community leaders and organizations to address the needs of our most vulnerable neighbors.
Looking Ahead
The success of the Homeless Resource & Job Fair proves that when we work together, we can create impactful change. We are grateful for the ongoing partnership with Alameda County and all the organizations that make these events possible. We are already looking forward to participating in the next event and continuing to serve our community.
Thank you to everyone who supports our mission and believes in the power of compassionate care. We are committed to making a difference, one person at a time.
