<\/h4>\nIt’s been a while since we went back to basics here on the blog, but how does one determine how much care one needs? Let’s go over some of the ways that you can do that. The number of homecare visits someone needs is very personal and dependent on multiple factors.<\/p>\n
<\/h4>\nMany people have long-term care insurance or other insurance that would cover homecare. It’s important to ask them for the steps you need to take to get homecare. Your physician may be able to help you with this process as well. A lot of the time, insurance will cover a certain amount of hours of homecare per week.<\/p>\n
Your physician may be able to recommend a number of hours of homecare, especially if the person in question has a specific condition that the physician diagnosed. They may have insight on an appropriate level of care, and of course our office is willing to talk to you as well. We know that sometimes you would want to discuss this with your trusted providers.<\/p>\n
You can start with a small number of weekly visits and build up over time to find the equilibrium that you are comfortable with long-term. Be aware though that some benefits may be structured in a “use it or lose it” structure. We can discuss that with you as well.<\/p>\n
