For National Nutrition Month, we are publishing posts on nutrition. Today, we’re going to talk about ways to shop for groceries while on a limited budget. That is often a concern that older adults may have.\u00a0 There are a couple of different options that people have.<\/p>\n
Buying in bulk can be cheaper per unit in the long run. This can be particularly helpful if you tend to bulk meal prep or cook the same meals on a regular basis. A lot of this depends on the stores that you have access to in your area. You can also look into bulk buying from a local farm in your area. This may limit you to produce that are in season.<\/p>\n
Joining rewards programs is free and can save you big in sneaky ways. But be really careful not to buy something that you don’t need or use just because it is on sale. That’s a very common pitfall that people fall into sometimes. Don’t buy tfive packs of toothpaste, ok, although we’ve all been there.<\/p>\n
