We do not handle pest management at CareBuilders. This is an overlooked part of spring cleaning, so I thought we’d talk about it today. As the seasons change, bugs can be more frequent. This can be especially true in apartments, which older adults often move into due to the lower maintainance that falls on the older adults. Not to mention critters that you might find in your attic! Let’s talk about options.<\/p>\n

Mind Your Pets<\/h4>\n

There are several pest sprays that you can keep on hand, but they’re usually not safe for your pets. Be careful, read the labels, and be prepared to keep them in a different room if you have to while you spray. Also, if you need to call someone to take care of your pest problem, be sure to tell them you have pets.<\/p>\n

Look Into Your At-Home Options<\/h4>\n

Speaking of sprays, you can usually find pest control sprays or deterrents at your local grocery store, home improvement store, and others. There are different options depending on the pest that you have in your house. I’ve been seeing talks online about “avoiding harmful chemicals” and I definitely think that you should wear long clothing and protect yourself from the spray. However, the harmful chemicals are what kills the bugs, so I don’t think that avoiding them is a very good idea.<\/p>\n

This one might be a two-parter because I have some other things to say.<\/p>\n
