August is National Immunization Month<\/a>, which is a topic that is especially important for seniors and any kids that they may have in their lives. Today, we thought we’d go over some basics about keeping your vaccinations up to date.<\/p>\n

Talk to Your Physician<\/h4>\n

There may be new recommendations for vaccines since you were a child, and there may be vaccinations that are more important for you to get now that you are older. For example, you may need the shingles vaccine and you may need to make getting your yearly flu shot much more of a priority than it was previously. The best way to know which vaccines you should get is by talking to your doctor. They may even offer them to you during your routine visit.<\/p>\n

Have a Plan and Look into Resources<\/h4>\n

If transportation to a vaccine clinic or local pharmacy is an issue for you, look into medical transportation options. You may be able to find an organization to take you to get your shots at a reduced cost. If you already have care with us, some of our caregivers will drive their clients to appointments during their shift if requested. If that’s something that interests you, please call the office.<\/p>\n
