A lot of care that we provide is, while not standardized, pretty universal. No two clients have exactly the same tasks that they need to be completed at the same frequency, but if our caregivers know they’re doing light housekeeping for a client, they generally know that they’re probably going to start a load of laundry and dust, for example. But sometimes, our clients have needs that are very unique and we accomodate them. I thought I’d share some of these tasks just in case you or a loved one need help with these but haven’t thought to ask.<\/p>\n
We will help transport clients, usually in their car. This is good for clients who want to do things like go to the grocery store by themselves or go to social outings (more on that in a second). This option is good for clients who can get in and out of a car by themselves or with some assistance but can no longer drive.<\/p>\n
I often talk about this around the holidays because I think this is so under-utilized but so helpful. A caregiver can assist someone at a social event or holiday gathering. It preserves their independence in front of their friends and family, and there’s a person there who is 100% focused on the client.<\/p>\n
We do help with some limited pet care, we will usually let the dogs out and feed animals. We won’t do really strenuous pet work, and some of our caregivers are afraid of pets. Always let us know if you have pets and want us to help care for them.<\/p>\n
