<\/p>\nAs we age, one of the first things that we struggle with can be maintaining our hygiene. This is really important because hygiene is a key part of our overall health and our sense of personal dignity. So today I’m going to talk about some hygienic aids, but before I do that I want to remind everyone that there is no shame in hiring a caregiver to help with hygiene. Like I said, good hygiene is essential, regardless of how you get there.<\/p>\n

Electric toothpick and water flossers can be great people who still have the strength and dexterity in their hands to hold such instruments, but they may not be able to brush or floss very thoroughly manually. This can mean they can still take care of their teeth without help, which is great for their overall health.<\/p>\n
Bidets can also be a great option for anyone, but especially people who have a hard time reaching with the toilet paper. You might find once you start using one, that you’ll never want to go without one again!<\/p>\n
Back scratchers with a long handle can be great for people who can’t reach their backs. I also like to recommend shower chairs in these types of conversations because they’re relatively cheap (like long-handled scrubs) and they can be so useful so people can shower on their own.<\/p>\n
