A lot of older adults and people with disabilities like to cook and can do so independently. However, sometimes they can have difficulties with certain aspects of cooking and food preparation. We are big on promoting independence over here at CareBuilders, and if someone can cook for themselves with a few adaptations, we\u2019re all over that.<\/p>\n
Frozen produce is almost always pre-chopped. One of the downsides of frozen produce is that they can be higher in sodium, and if that is a concern for you, then you might be able to find someone to cut those up and you can freeze them. Just don’t add a ton of salt to them.<\/p>\n
Blenders are a great way to chop or puree foods if you don’t have the dexterity to chop yourself. It may take some trial and error because you have less control over a blender than you would with a knife.<\/p>\n
Slow cookers can be wonderful for people to cook with because they often allow people to cook without cutting anything. They also don’t require a lot of standing and waiting to for something to cook.<\/p>\n
