Family-owned. Veteran rooted. Community-focused. That is the heart of CareBuilders at Home in St. Petersburg.

Who we are

David Hunt, President and Owner
After a career in executive sales and technology, David chose a purpose-driven path that serves people where they want to be most: at home. He leads daily operations in St. Petersburg and can often be found cheering on grandchildren at the park.

Gary Ulrich, Owner, Finance
Gary served nearly three decades in the United States Navy, advancing from electronics technician to commissioned electronics officer across seven ships and many deployments. Mission focus and accountability guide how he supports families and caregivers here in St. Petersburg.

Chloe Ulrich, Owner, Marketing
Chloe began her Navy career as a supply officer, later supporting aircraft and SEAL team logistics. Today she brings that same operational calm and compassion to community outreach and family education. She and Gary are raising three young children in St. Petersburg.

Why St. Petersburg

In 2022 the family chose St. Petersburg together. Beaches are within minutes. The community is lively and safe with great schools and plenty to do without big city gridlock. They love spotting peacocks on neighborhood walks and running into familiar faces around town. Most of all, St. Petersburg’s strong veteran community felt like home.

Why home care

Service shaped us. The Navy taught our team to be mission-oriented, to rely on each other, and to take care of the people beside us. Home care allows us to live that mission in a practical way. We help older adults and veterans stay safe and independent in the place they love, surrounded by routines and memories that matter.

Many families do not realize that in-home support can be flexible, from just a few hours a week to more comprehensive care. For veterans and their spouses there may be benefits that help. Our team understands how to navigate options and build a plan that fits your life.

How we show up for St. Petersburg

  • We are active in local organizations like the VFW, American Legion, and community groups that support seniors and veterans.

  • You will see us at evening and weekend events because family and community time are part of our rhythm.

  • We keep communication clear and simple. Families deserve straight answers and a steady partner.

Our promise

We will treat your loved one like family. We will earn your trust through consistency, kindness, and follow-through. And we will help you prepare before a crisis so decisions feel lighter and days feel easier.
