One of the categories of care that we assist with is personal care. Personal care covers assistance with someone’s hygeine, grooming, and other personal daily tasks. What each person will need help with and to what extent they need assistance is dependant on the person and their condition.
Toileting
Our caregivers can help with toileting. It is up to the client how much assistance they need. Some people may need help getting on and off the toilet, while others may simply need someone nearby becuase they don’t always need assistance. This can be a very intimate part of someone’s life so it is important that the client be the one to determine what they need and what they are able to do themselves.
Smaller, Routine Tasks
Sometimes people may have difficulties with small, repetitive movements like brushing one’s hair or teeth. Personal care homecare caregivers can help their clients perform these tasks. These tasks, if not done, can severely impact someone’s health and confidence.
I may do a mini series on personal care, because this is a topic that I mostly haven’t explored. Let me know down below if you would like to hear more about that!
