We have exciting news to share. CareBuilders at Home is now offering medical alert smartwatches — completely free of charge — to all of our Louisville clients. These devices add an important layer of safety and peace of mind to in-home care, and getting one is simple: just request one from our office. Here’s a look at what these watches can do.

Continuous Monitoring and Fall Detection

The watches provide continuous monitoring throughout the day, so unusual pauses or changes in routine can be detected quickly. If a fall is detected, the watch automatically sends out a notification — making sure help can be arranged swiftly, which is critical in the minutes following a fall. The watches connect through AT&T’s cellular network, so they work reliably wherever there’s coverage, without needing to be tethered to a home phone or Wi-Fi. They also monitor heart rate and step count throughout the day, giving another useful window into a client’s overall wellbeing.

GPS Location Services

Each watch includes GPS tracking, which means our caregivers can quickly locate a client and their watch through a simple text notification. This can be especially valuable for clients living with Alzheimer’s or dementia, where wandering (also called elopement) is a real safety concern. Being able to locate a loved one within minutes rather than hours can make an enormous difference in outcomes — and gives families significant peace of mind knowing that layer of protection is in place.

Health and Wellness Tracking

Alongside heart rate and step count, the daily health data these watches gather can help identify patterns over time. Consistent changes — a drop in daily activity, an unusual heart rate trend — can be early indicators worth discussing with a healthcare provider. This isn’t a replacement for medical care, but it’s a useful supplement that helps caregivers and families notice shifts they might otherwise miss.

How to Request Your Watch

Any current CareBuilders at Home client can request a medical alert smartwatch at no cost. Simply reach out to our office and let us know you’d like one — we’ll take care of the rest.
