September is Healthy Aging Month, and today we’re going to talk about some keys parts of staying healthy in your mind and body. You can also learning more by checking out Healthy Aging Magazine.

Stay Active
Staying active in whatever way that you can will help preserve your physical fitness and muscle strength. Staying as active as you can can also help you stay indepedent as long as you can. Anything will help, like walking or gardening, or swimming or water aerobics.
Fill Your Calendar
Your social health is as important as your physical health. As much as you can, try to fill your social calendar, whether it’s volunteering or meeting up for card games with your friends. It could be weekly bingo. Whatever gets you out into the community.
Try to Eat Well
Try to make your meals as nutritious as you can. Be open to trying new things. I know for me, I struggle with eating enough protein in the morning as a vegetarian. I’ll be hungry again too quickly if I don’t eat enough, so I have switched to eating chia seed pudding in the mornings.
Let us know what you do to promote healthy aging.
