One of the underrated services that our caregivers can provide is bulk meal preparation help. Today, we’re going to go over some meal preparation ideas. These should be relatively easy bulk meals to make on your own or with a caregiver.
Squash Based Soups
My favorite thing in fall is an fall squash soup. You can use any squash variety you want, but pumpkin is what will be probably the most available in the area right now. You can pop these in a ginormous pot or crockpot to simmer for hours and then bulk freeze them. You can customize these completely, too.
Protein + Rice or Noodles
You can make endless variations of your favorite proteins with a base of either rice or noodles. I personally feel like rice reheats better, but that is up to personal preference. They’ll keep well in the fridge.
Breads
While not a full meal, most recipes for quick breads make 2 loaves, so you can make enough to last you quite a while. You can also make your own butter for the bread, which is your breakfast on lock.
Chia Seed Pudding
The base ingredients for these are milk, chia seeds, vanilla extract, and honey. You can add whatever toppings or flavorings that you want, make it in large batches, and then keep it in the fridge. Now, these don’t keep as long as some of the other options, so make only what you can eat in a few days.
What do you like to make around this time of the year?
