Welcome to the first day of Care-0-Ween! Halloween is right around the corner, and it’s my personal favorite holiday. And you can wear a costume at any age, even if you are handing out candy. Here are some relatively affordable last-minute costumes that you can throw together if you do not have a costume yet.

A dark room is filled with four jack o lanterns.

Any Animal

You can be a lion, wolf, cat or anything you want! As long as you have clothing in whatever color or pattern the animal is, and some applicable accessories like ears or a nose or even sunglasses for bug eyes.

A Cowboy or Scarecrow

These might seem unconventional paired together, but the costume pieces are related. All you need are flannels and jeans, some boots if you have them and a hat, either cowboy or straw. Half of those might be items that you already have, and the other half are items you can readily find somewhere.

Mobility Device Covers

These are great because they allow you to make your device part of your costume. They’re usually in the design of vehicles like spaceships or pirate ships. This can be fun but it may take a little more planning, as I don’t know how common they are in party stores.

What are you being for Halloween? Are you going trick-or-treating or are you on candy duty?
