In a few days is my personal favorite part of Thanksgiving week: Giving Tuesday. The Tuesday after Thanksgiving is dedicated to giving back to our communities. I’ve compiled a short list of organizations that support older adults. If you have other organizations you like to support, feel free to leave them in the comments below. And of course, giving isn’t limited to money—time and advocacy matter, too.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels delivers nutritious meals to millions of older adults across the country. For many seniors, these meals are essential to their health and independence. In addition to donating, you can also support Meals on Wheels by volunteering locally or by advocating for increased public funding that helps sustain these programs.

Pets for the Elderly

Pets for the Elderly helps older adults adopt companion animals by covering adoption fees and working with shelters nationwide. Companionship can have a powerful impact on emotional well-being, and this organization makes pet ownership more accessible for seniors on fixed incomes.

Justice in Aging

Justice in Aging advocates for the legal and economic rights of older adults, with a focus on seniors who are low-income or otherwise marginalized. Their work includes policy advocacy, legal support, and education aimed at improving access to healthcare, housing, and economic security.

Giving Tuesday is a great reminder that small contributions—whether time, resources, or advocacy—can make a meaningful difference. Where are you giving this Tuesday? Let us know below.
