As we approach the beginning of July, America’s 250th birthday will be upon us. I thought we could talk about some of the events around Louisville that will be happening. It’s a great way to get out of the house with your families, especially if you have grandchildren. You can find Louisville’s official America 250 Committee’s Facebook page here, and that will have all of the events around town listed. I’m only going to mention a few here. You can also find all related events on the Louisville government’s page.

Frazier Museum

On July 4th between 1 P.M. and 4 P. M., the Frazier Museum will give free admission to all visitors who say the key phrase, “I too am a Kentuckian.” This is the title of the museum’s newest exhibit. They’ll have tours and activities available that you can read about here.

St. Matthews Freedom Fest

St. Matthews Freedom Fest is going to be a family-friendly open-air event on the evening of July 3rd. I know a lot of people like going to family events out there in St. Matthews because it is a fun area that is pretty centrally located. You’ll also be able to beat the heat because it is 4 P.M.- 9 P.M. Go check it out!

Dawn’s Early Light

The festivities will start early on the morning of the 4th at Locust Grove with a multicultural ceremony and community breakfast. The event starts at 6:30 A.M.

Get ready for the festivities! It will be fun for the whole family.
