If you’ve been reading this blog this past week, then you’ve seen me post about caregivers. We are always looking for caregivers, we accept them 365 days a year. Spring is a good time to join, in my personal opinion, because it gives you time to get used to the work environment before summer and winter, which have a lot of holidays and is generally a busy time. That’s just my personal opinion, again, not an official statement.

I thought it would be helpful to talk about what we look for in caregivers in case anyone saw that post and wanted to apply. To apply, you can apply here on this website or call 502-458-2273. You do not have to have all of the qualities I’m going to line out to apply, I’m just going over what we like in a candidate.

Experience

We look for both professional and personal experience. Of course, working as a caregiver previously qualifies here. However, we also accept people who did unpaid caregiving work for a loved one, as that is valuable caregiving experience that often goes overlooked.

Education

You are not required to have be a CNA or nursing student in order to apply, but we do like talking to people who have education that would aide them in their work with us. If you have such education, be sure to include it on your resume.

Care for Others

This seems pretty self-explanatory. We are looking for kind and empathetic people who will be able to be companions to their clients. We also look for a passion for helping others, especially older people. This can be a very emotionally demanding job, and it’s best if caregivers have a passion for it.

Reliable

It is on the caregiver to go to their shift on-time and complete their tasks. We get feedback from clients, but we are not directly supervising you during your whole shift. So we look for punctuality and dependability in our caregivers.

Once again, if you are interested in applying, please call us or apply on the website. Don’t forget to look us up on Facebook!
